DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT

Through a highly personalized and supportive environment, the Department of Music at Henderson State University strives to prepare students for productive careers as music educators, performers, composers, and scholars.  The primary goals of the department are to foster and develop high levels of musicianship, music learning, and musical experience, which will enable students to creatively respond to the significance of music throughout society.  In accordance with the University's academic insignia, the Henderson State University Department of Music enjoys a rich history of Excellence, Spirit, and Tradition in preparing its students for successful futures in their chosen field of music.
